Frontline Peer Goes Social: A New Chapter in Public Safety Innovation
Building a one-stop hub for first responders, students, and system thinkers—where research, real-world experience, and strategy meet.
We’re excited to share that Frontline Peer has been accepted into the Social Ventures Incubator at Memorial University for 2025–26.
This marks a new chapter: we’re going social – growing into a social enterprise focused on developing meaningful supports for public safety professionals, from those on the frontlines to those working behind the scenes.
With the support of expert advisors, workshops, seed funding, and a growing network, the next year will be about testing and validating a set of value-driven ideas we believe can make a real difference.
Here’s what we’ll be exploring:
Navigating PTSD Legislation
Helping first responders better understand and access their rights under presumptive PTSD legislation. We'll be exploring partnerships with paralegals, insurance providers, and advocates who can help inform individuals navigating the complex claims process with support.Making Research Accessible
We aim to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world practice, making public safety research digestible and actionable. Practitioners and academics will be invited into meaningful dialogue, shaping future directions together.Rebuilding Organizational Legitimacy
We’ll look at how the optics of safety work can undermine trust, and test ways to counteract the bystander effect – helping organizations make sense of operational complexity and communicate their value more efficaciously.Mentorship & Fit for Students
Supporting students and early-career professionals by connecting them with mentors who understand the real needs and aptitudes required in public safety roles. This is about long-term success, not just job placement.
These are just the starting points – and we want you with us as we test, learn, and grow.
“Safety is defined and measured more by its absence than its presence.”
– James Reason
This venture is about addressing that paradox – turning insight into action, and making space for those long dedicated to public service to be seen, heard, and supported.
